Hull is thermoformed from a shingle sheet of high-density polyethylene a material that is more impact resistant than fiberglass and quieter than aluminum. The hull is also 50% thicker than the competitors for added longevity. The Scout includes features scarcely found on other canoes-like dry storage, six molded-in holder locations and a higher weight carrying capacity than other leading canoes under 15 feet.
